The mitigation of CO² emissions.

The first priority of climate action is the reduction ofCO2 emissions that are the cause of climate change and that come from the use of fossil fuels for various uses in buildings and transportation, manufacturing activities, waste and agriculture.

Roma Capitale has defined a mitigation pathway for emissions that come from different sectors and that identifies goals, measures, and actions.

In addition, Rome was selected by the EU Commission as one of 100 European cities in the Mission “Carbon-neutral and smart cities by 2030” to accelerate and advance decarbonization goals. To define the decarbonization pathway, each city in the Mission approved its own Climate City Contract.
