confirmed by scientific data.<br><br><strong>2022<\/strong>, <strong>2023<\/strong> and <strong>2024<\/strong> were the hottest years on record. In particular, <strong>2024 was the hottest year ever recorded<\/strong>, with an average daily temperature across the entire municipal area of <strong>19.7 \u00b0C<\/strong>, 2.5 \u00b0C higher than the average for the period 1991\u20132020. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6bbb4d8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"6bbb4d8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Rome\u2019s first Heat Plan<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-493f06c4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"493f06c4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The City Council has presented <strong>the city\u2019s first Heat Plan<\/strong> with the aim of identifying the measures needed to ensure the city is prepared to deal with situations that may endanger people\u2019s health and, more generally, the city\u2019s liveability. Indeed, if these emergencies and the scenarios predicted by scientists are not addressed, the problems and their impact on health will worsen, particularly for the most vulnerable sections of the population. <\/p><p>The aim of the Plan is to set out a vision for how to implement the necessary measures in a coordinated and integrated manner <strong>to prepare people, buildings, infrastructure and public spaces to adapt to more intense and frequent heatwaves.<\/strong> This means ensuring that all citizens have the information and services they need to stay cool and safe during the hottest days. It means rethinking public spaces in the city\u2019s most critical areas to reduce perceived temperatures and ensure that cool, accessible spaces are available to those who need them at the most critical times, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable people. It also means working with the scientific community to monitor impacts and gain a deeper understanding of the changes and their consequences, so that measures and interventions can be adapted and This map identifies spaces (both indoor and outdoor) that are open to the public free of charge, where people <strong>can find relief during periods of extreme heat<\/strong>, thanks to the availability of shade, drinking water, natural ventilation or air conditioning.<\/p><p>The maps <strong>can be viewed<\/strong> via <strong>GeoRoma<\/strong>, through an <strong>app<\/strong> and on a dedicated <strong>web platform<\/strong> accessible <strong><em>from computers and smartphones<\/em><\/strong>, without the need to download any applications. The web platform also allows users to view <strong>the heat exposure map and the socio-demographic vulnerability map<\/strong> for high temperatures. <\/p><p>Thanks to the <strong><em>interactive maps<\/em><\/strong>, anyone who needs to can find the nearest mountain refuge to their location, check how long it will take to reach it on foot, the route to follow, the facilities available, and
