What is the situation regarding green jobs in Rome, what are the opportunities for growth, and what training and new skills are needed to increase quality employment in the capital? This topic was the focus of new studies and a conference organised at Palazzo Valentini.
Rome was selected by the European Commission as one of the cities participating in the ‘100 carbon-neutral and smart cities by 2030’ mission, and on 15 October it received the Climate City Contract Label, developed with the contribution of social, economic and environmental stakeholders in the city.
One of the priority challenges identified by Rome’s decarbonisation plan concerns training and the development of green skills to boost employment and business investment in sustainability, climate mitigation and adaptation.
The meeting was an opportunity to present studies on the situation and scenarios of Green Jobs in Rome, carried out by C40 and NEXT-nuova economia per tutti (NEXT-new economy for all), and to explore the choices to be made and alliances to be built in order to strengthen quality employment.
